At the start of the war in Ukraine, Dr . Tanya Manyak — a Burkhart customer who grew up in Ukraine and still has family there — was approached by a former patient to contribute to Hearts for Ukraine, an organization that provides critical supplies to those affected by the war.
Dr. Manyak reached out to Burkhart via her Account Manager, Rick Deming, for support.
Burkhart donated various dental and medical supplies to the cause. Items in the first shipment included dental handpieces and other medical necessities, such as lidocaine, syringes, and gauze. A second donation of under $100K of gloves was also sent to Ukraine.
“Burkhart Dental Supply is endlessly generous to provide continued support. We’ve been working with Burkhart for many years. We always value not only their daily support with our clinical supplies and equipment but also their responsiveness to any humanitarian need — whether it was for our numerous service trips over the years or now with help for Ukraine,” Dr . Manyak said.
Being able to help in a tangible way felt fulfilling, Dr . Manyak said. Since the initial donation, she and her practice have continued to support those affected by the war in Ukraine by raising funds, donating supplies and clothes, and volunteering.
“It all just sort of snowballed,” she said. “We don’t want to stop and lose momentum. I have profound gratitude for everyone who’s contributed — these are all generous and compassionate people, and I consider myself to be very lucky to be part of this profession.”
