It started first thing Wednesday morning when Tim [Williamson, Burkhart Service Tech] got a call from Dr. Feisthamel stating their pump was down. After hearing the symptoms, Tim determined it either needed to be replaced or at the least a loaner was needed. He was in Joplin already, and heading to Springfield for another appointment. Tim called me and told me what was happening, and was turning around to head back to Tulsa to get a loaner. I called Tracey [Turner, Burkhart Equipment Coordinator] and found out we did indeed have a new vac pump at the Tulsa branch that was a perfect replacement for the current one, and immediately gave me a quote for the Doctor. He agreed to the price, so I called Amy [Duckworth, Burkhart Branch Coordinator] to see if anyone at the branch, could load it and meet Tim somewhere along the way, to save time.

It turns out Amy and Gina [McDonald, Burkhart Service Coordinator] loaded the twin motor vac pump by themselves into Amy’s car, and she drove to meet Tim in Claremore, saving about an hour or more drive time. By doing so, Tim was able to get back to Springfield with the new unit and had the Doctor up and running in time to see her 2:30pm appointment.

This is what the Burkhart way is all about. Dr. Feisthamel is not a big office—it’s just her and two employees—but we took care of her as if she were the biggest customer in Burkhart.

I am so proud of Tim, Amy, Gina, and Tracey for taking such great care of my customer of 20 years. In my former life, I would have been told ‘That’s not my job’ and the Doctor would have been down all day.
