Utilizing Digital Dentistry in the General Practice

Digital technology is quickly changing the landscape in dentistry. Now, more than ever, the general practitioner can keep complex treatments and lab work in-house that were previously outsourced at a steep time and monetary cost. This course will overview a few of the in-office benefits that digital dentistry offers. We will discuss interpretation of CBCT data for implant planning, collection of intraoral scan data, design and in-office fabrication of a surgical guide, 3D printing for nightguards, and more.

JOSHUA NAGAO, DDS
Joshua Nagao, DDS earned his dental degree from Ohio State University, graduating first in his class clinically. In the time he has been practicing, Dr. Nagao has developed a passion for dental surgery, including implant placements, sedation dentistry, and complex reconstructions. He has invested over 1,800 hours in continuing education to better the lives of his patients. This continuing education journey sparked an interest in teaching, which has become one of his passions.
Dr. Nagao has been the most recent graduate mentoring at Implant Pathway since 2019. He began teaching implant surgery only four years after graduation. In this time he has mentored hundreds of doctors in their implant journey. When New Horizon Dental Center became an accredited residency program through NYU Langone, Dr. Nagao became faculty of the residency and has been overseeing resident training in the clinic as well as hosting a weekly treatment planning module. He is also a contributing author to Implant Practice US magazine. Dr. Nagao is an Associate Fellow in the American Association of Implant Dentistry and is currently undertaking the process of becoming a Diplomate in the American Board of Oral Implantology.
